Saracens SC, Moratuwa SC clash in Tier B 50-over final today

Saracens SC led by Shenal de Silva and Moratuwa SC skippered by Anuk de Alwis will meet in the final of the SLC Tier B 50-over final at the Thurstan College grounds today.

Saracens SC Coach Dilshan Mendis said his team was ready to play good, positive cricket in the final.

“As the Head Coach of the team, I’m proud and happy with the team’s performance. We had a good start from the first match chasing 240 odd runs. That match gave us a boost to reach the final. We have been doing well in all three departments. A big thank you to the Club President, management and the coaching staff for believing in us as a team.”

Moratuwa SC’s Coach Pemlal Fernando said that it was all about handling situations and a lot depended on the track allocated for the final.  

“We have some talented players who have the ability to adjust to face any kind of situation. The team spirit is very high and the players support each other well under seasoned skipper Anuk de Alwis. Our team is strong in all departments and the boys are good fighters. I hope both teams will play good cricket within the ‘spirit of the game’.”
