Sathya Sandeepani will lead the 14-strong Sri Lanka ‘A’ women’s cricket team for the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams T20 Asia Cup tournament in Hong Kong from 12-21 June. The team left for Hong Kong yesterday.
Kawya Kavindi who was selected in the original squad had to be replaced as she suffered an injury. Malki Madara was named as her replacement, but she too suffered an injury, and Sachini Nisansala was selected instead.
The ‘A’ teams of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh along with Hong Kong, Malaysia, Nepal and UAE will participate in the eight-team competition.
