Schools U20 Boys and Girls Hockey Tournament starts today

The All Island Under 20 Girls and Boys Hockey Tournament 2022 will be worked off at the Edward Park Stadium in Matale from today (12 October) and end on 15 October.

This event will be worked off after a lapse of two years due to Covid pandemic. There will be 40 Boys teams and 20 Girls team will play for honours at this annual mega event which is assured to attract a large crowd on all four days.

There will be teams from the following Districts such as Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Badulla, Galle, Matara, Jaffna, Kegalle, Kandy and Matale. St Peter’s College are the Boys defending champions while Seethadevi College from Kandy will defend their title in the Girls segment.

Anuruddha Herath Bandara, Secretary of the Sri Lanka School Hockey Association will head the organising committee.
