Second half rally helps Navy beat CR

Navy SC registered a hard fought 18 points (2 tries, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) to 13 points (1 try, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) win in their Inter Club Rugby League 2022 encounter against CR and FC worked off at Welisara yesterday. 

Sailors fought back hard after they were trailing 7/10 in the initial half. Sailors tries were scored by skipper Adeesha Weerathunge and Amith Gunasinghe. Janith Chandimal did the conversion while penalties were put over by Chatura Seneviratne and Samuel Maduwantha.  

For the Red Shirts their only try was scored by their hooker Supun Warunakulasuriya while the conversion and both penalties were put over by Kavindu Yasas. The referee was Dilum Dheeshana.  

Today there will be two games down for decision. At Police Park, Cops will host Air Force while at Havelock Park under lights CH and FC will be tested by the unbeaten Park Club.
