Second half Soori dancing his way for a Kandy SC try

The Kandy SC made a superb second half rally in their Inter-Club Rugby League encounter when they beat newcomers Sri Lions SC by 61 points (8 tries, 6 conversions, 3 penalties) to 14 points (2 tries, 2 conversions) at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium last evening.

At the short breather, Kandy SC led 27/14.

Sri Lions started off well, but ran out of gas in the latter half. They looked threatening, but Kandy never was under pressure. They kept the best rugby for the latter half.

Ranjan, Tari, Kavindu, and Soori were outstanding, both in attack as well as defence.

Kandy scored through Dilshan Fareed, Srinath Sooriyabandara, Dhanushka Ranjan, Tharinda Rathwatte, Dahan Wickremarachchi, Chathura Soysa, Ethan Schneider, and Tharindu Chanaka. Rathwatte took the conversions and put over three penalties.

For the Sri Lions, their tries were scored by Aaron Perera and Ramesh Ramdas. Chanaka Chandimal and Kevin Dixon took one try conversion each.

Referee was Aruna Shantha.
