Second string Kandy beat Air Force courtesy second half burst

Kandy Sports Club, defending League Champions, resting more than 5 of their regulars gave the much needed opportunity for their youngsters, pulling off yet another bonus point win when they beat Air Force 30/13.

At the short breather it was the Air Force that led 6/5.

Air Force put over 2 penalties by Gayantha Iddamalgoda while Kandy SC scored through Lakshitha Ranaweera try.

After the turnaround Kandy SC scored their second try by former Trinity flanker, Sanushka Abeywickrema who had a grand game to lead 10/6 in their favour. Two Suranga Tennakoon try and Asiri Seneviratne conversion took them to a comfortable lead of 23/6. Another Thainrdu Chathuranga try and Asiri conversion took them to safety at 30/6. Air Force scored their only goal in the last minutes of the end through Sandaru  Mandiv that was goaled by Nadun Gunasekara. Soon after the turnaround the game was stopped for about 10 minutes due to lightning, considering the danger for the players and officials.
