Champions Navy SC receive prize money of Rs. 400,000
The Women’s Inter-Club Division 1 (50-over) cricket tournament concluded last week with Navy SC retaining the title for yet another year after a close tussle for honours with two other services teams Air Force SC A who finished runner-up and Army SC A third.
As champions Navy SC received a cheque for Rs. 400,000 and Air Force SC A collected a runner-up cheque for Rs. 200,000.
The individual awards determined by the Tournament Committee saw Kavisha Dilhari of Seenigama CC being awarded the Player of the Tournament prize of Rs. 75,000 (317 runs and 17 wickets). The Best Batter of the tournament and the Best Bowler of the tournament awards of Rs. 50,000 each went to Vishmi Gunaratne of Chilaw Marians CC (213 runs) and Inoka Ranaweera of Navy SC (19 wickets) respectively.
The awards were presented by Tournament Committee Chairman Samantha Dodanwela and National Cricket Operations Head Chinthaka Edirimanne.
