Senal to lead Havies

Former Isipathana triple champions skipper Senal Deelaka was appointed as the skipper of Havelock Sports Club for 2020/2021 rugby season.

Senal who played for the Green Shirts from 2010 to 2014 led the outfit in his final year. He represented the Asia Rugby Championship Top 4 in 2014. He is playing for the Park club for the last six years.

Havelocks will see the return of national players, Dinuk Amarasinghe and Sumudu Rankothge but will miss Lahir who joined the Kandy outfit this season.

Sanath Martis will be their Head Coach once more. Speaking to Daily FT, Martis said: “Senal is very loyal towards the Park Club. From the time he joined us, he never left to any other clubs for better perks. He is a well-disciplined leader who will have the full support of the team.

“We have Sunimal Manamperi as the trainer once more who had done a yeoman service for the club and our players. Hard-working Rukshan Cabral will be the Team Manager.”
