Senior national Squash teams off to Malaysia

Sri Lanka’s senior national Squash team took wing to Malaysia to participate at the 20th Asian Squash Team Championships to be held from today (30 November) to 4 December.

The women’s event will see eight teams taking part, while 13 teams will participate in the men’s event. The Sri Lankan men’s team will be represented by Ravindu Laksiri, Shamil Wakeel, Methmal Wood and Sheriff Hakeem, while Fathoum Issadeen, Yeheni Kuruppu, Chanithma Sinaly and Dewmini Gallage will represent the women.

Sri Lanka Squash Secretary Eranga Alwis will take be Team Manager. Alwis is a former national player. Gihan Suwaris and Naduni Gunawardena are part of the coaching staff. Both Gihan and Naduni are former No. 1 ranked players and World Squash Federation level two qualified coaches. (SJ)
