Tharjini Sivalingam excelled in Australia’s Netball League Tournament, where she represented the clubs Falcons and St. Albans.
The league competition, which took place in two stages, the Victorian Netball League and Geelong Netball League, saw the participation of over 20 teams from across the world. The teams locked horns as the battle for the championship marched ahead in the form of an elimination process. Sivalingam led the Falcons to the preliminary finals of the Victoria Netball League, where she scored a whopping 823 points in 20 matches with a shooting percentage of 92%. Continuing her excellence, Sivalingam also led St. Albans to the final. Sivalingam’s unprecedented performance in the league tournament earned her the top two awards. Sivalingam was awarded the Best Shooter of the Year and Fairest Player of City West Falcons 2017.
Having started her netball career in 2004, Sivalingam has a strong track record in netball and continues to record new achievements, helping Sri Lanka shine on the world stage. Sivalingam was awarded gold medals in 2009 for her outstanding performances at the national level and was feted as the best shooter in 2011.
Further, in 2012 she led the Sri Lankan team at international netball matches.
Sivalingam is also a banker by profession. Having joined Seylan Bank in 2005, Sivalingam works at the Liability Products Management Department.
