Seylan Tikiri Junior Super 16 Rugby Carnival gathers momentum

With the vision to promote the game of rugby among school kids, Sri Lanka Rugby teamed up with Super 16, inviting schools and rugby academies to showcase the budding talent of junior ruggerites. 

Since 2016, Seylan Tikiri, Sri Lanka’s popular minor savings account, joined them to serve as Principal Sponsor for ‘Seylan Tikiri Junior Super 16 Rugby Carnival’.

This year’s tournament kicked off on 17 June at the Royal College Sports Complex. The tri-leg tournament ended in July, allowing 16 leading Schools and Rugby Academies to put their Rugby lessons to practice.

Conducted under the guidance of veteran Rugby players Shahid Sangani and Summa Vavaratnam, the Seylan Tikiri Junior Super 16 Rugby Carnival opened the field for young rugby enthusiasts to step into the competitive world of school rugby tournaments. Pictured are some moments from the field.
