Shanaka and Pathirana to remain in India

All-rounder Dasun Shanaka and fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana who are both recovering from injuries will remain with the Sri Lanka World Cup squad in India.

Shanaka who has a leg injury has been ruled out for the rest of the World Cup and has been replaced by another all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne in the squad.

Pathirana who has an injured shoulder has been asked to rest and was not available for Sri Lanka’s game against Australia on Monday and against Netherlands on Saturday.

Sri Lanka team manager Mahinda Halangoda said that both injured players were under rehabilitation and that they would be getting another player down from Colombo as cover. – (ST)
