Dasun Shanaka hit a 26-ball fifty for SLC Reds
Binura Fernando took three SLC Yellow wickets for 22 runs 

Former Sri Lanka white ball Captain Dasun Shanaka slammed a fifty off 26 balls and fast bowler Lahiru Kumara conceded the most runs in an innings in the tournament 56, as SLC Reds beat SLC Yellow by 40 runs in the fourth match of the SLC T20 World Cup Preparation tournament played at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

Shanaka’s knock of 63* off 38 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes) enabled Reds to run up a total of 192-8. Kumara was the pick of the Yellow bowlers with three wickets, but he came in for some punishment from Shanaka and eventually conceded a record 56 runs off his four overs being hit for seven fours and three sixes. Spinners Dunith Wellalage and Jeffrey Vandersay were the most economical of the bowlers with figures of 2/22 and 2/21 respectively.

Yellows in reply lost three wickets for 35 runs in the first power play and despite Pathum Nissanka scoring 41 off 20 balls (5 fours, 2 sixes) the innings never had any momentum going and they ended up scoring 152-9. Seamers Binura Fernando and Lahiru Samarakoon and spinner Nimesh Vimukthi were the pick of the Reds bowlers.

SLC Green will play SLC Reds in the fifth match of the tournament at the same venue on Friday.
