  • Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh 1st Under-17 3-day match at Galle

Sri Lanka Captain Kithma Vidanapathirana hit a sparkling 164 off 132 balls inclusive of 11 fours and 9 sixes on the third and final day of the 1st Under-17 3-day match against Bangladesh which ended in a draw at the Galle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Bangladesh were dismissed for 252 in their first innings with Adrito Ghosh remaining 133* scored off 224 balls (18 fours, 1 six). With a lead of 33, Vidanapathirana dominated the Sri Lanka second innings with his exceptional knock sharing in partnerships of 113 for the fourth wicket with Senuja Wekunagoda (80 off 102 balls, 10 fours), 88 for the fifth with Joshua Sebastian (17) and 70 for the seventh with Gimhana Rasanjana (26*).

Sri Lanka closed their second innings at 317-7, leaving Bangladesh with a massive target of 351 to chase. By stumps Bangladesh had lost 4 wickets for 51.

The second Under-17 3-day match will commence at the same venue on 6 December.
