Vanuatu women found Sashini Gimhani unplayable
Sri Lanka Women led by 15-year-old spin sensation Shashini Gimhani routed Vanuatu Women for 58 and sealed a comfortable nine-wicket win in their second warm-up match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier played at Tolerance Oval, Abu Dhabi yesterday.
Vanuatu women were all at sea against Gimhani’s left-arm wrist spin which fetched her figures of 3/12.
Seamers Udeshika Prabodhani and Achini Kulasuriya and left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera were also amongst the wickets with only one Vanuatu player getting into double figures.
Sri Lanka knocked the runs off in 8.2 overs losing the wicket of acting skipper Anushka Sanjeewani for 11. Harsitha Samarawickrama (14*) and Hasini Perera (27*) took Sri Lanka home with an unbroken stand of 43 in seven overs.
This win follows Sri Lanka’s 63-run win over Netherlands Women in their first warm-up game on Sunday.
Sri Lanka plays their first match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier against Thailand on Thursday.
