Sports Minister says doping test a must for athletes competing in intl. tournaments

Sports Minister Fasizer Musthapha said that it was the responsibility of all sports associations to ensure that every athlete taking part in international competitions should face an doping test.

The Minister made this statement at a special meeting held by officials of the Anti-Doping Agency.

The attention of the Minister and these officials was drawn to ensuring that all athletes taking part in international tournaments would have to take a drug test after obtaining ministry approval while also focusing on raising awareness about doping.

It was also decided that the sports associations should recommend that athletes take a drug test one month prior to the event.
