Sports Minister writes to ICC

Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe

Minister of Sports Roshan Ranasinghe has sent a letter to the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), asking for a meeting to address social media rumours that the ICC has formed a committee with three members to investigate potential political interference into the management of Sri Lanka Cricket.

The high profile committee includes – Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan. The committee is tasked to comprehensively look into the matter and submit the report to the game’s governing body.

This development took place after top officials of SLC’s top officials met ICC officials during their recent visit to Dubai to attend an ICC meeting.
