Sri Lanka ‘A’ bounced back to record their first win in the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup when they defeated Hong Kong by 42 runs at Oman yesterday.
Invited to bat first, Sri Lanka ‘A’ rode on opener Yashodha Lanka’s half-century (56 off 44 balls, 3 fours, 2 sixes) to post a competitive total of 178-5 with contributions down the line, and restricted Hong Kong to a score of 136-7.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ lost their opening match to Afghanistan ‘A’ by 11 runs, with leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha picking up six wickets for 23 runs.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ play their final match in Group A against Bangladesh ‘A’ on 22 October, a game they have to win to stand a chance at qualifying for the semi-finals.
