Fifties from Kamil Mishara, Nuwanidu Fernando and Chamindu Wickramasinghe saw Sri Lanka ‘A’ beat South Africa ‘A’ by 93 runs in the first unofficial ODI and win their tour opener played at Potchefstroom.
Mishara scored 71 off 75 balls (9 fours, 1 six) while Fernando, a stroke-filled 97 off 101 balls (8 fours, 1 six) at the top of the order. Following their dismissals Sri Lanka ‘A’ slumped to 247-7, but Wickramasinghe hit a lusty 59 off 35 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) to see them to a challenging score of
298-9.
South Africa ‘A’ was dismissed for 205 by spinners Wanuja Sahan and Dushan Hemantha who shared six wickets between them.
