Sri Lanka ‘A’ takes winning 2-0 lead in unofficial ODI series

Sri Lanka ‘A’, captained by Pasindu Sooriyabandara, took a winning 2-0 lead in the three-match unofficial ODI series against South Africa ‘A’, when they won the second match by 30 runs at Potchefstroom on Monday.

Sri Lanka ‘A’’s match winner was leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha, who took 5/48 to dismiss South Africa ‘A’ for 239 chasing a target of 270.

Earlier, Sri Lanka ‘A’, deciding to bat first, scored 269-7 with fifties from opener Lahiru Udara (86 off 95 balls, 11 fours, 1 six) and Sahan Arachchige (52 off 56 balls, 4 fours, 1 six) and contributions of 40* from Sonal Dinusha and 44 off 35 balls (2 fours, 2 sixes) from Chamindu Wickramasinghe.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ also won the first match of the series played at the same venue by 93 runs in their opening game of the tour. Kamil Mishara (71 off 75 balls, 9 fours, 1 six), Nuwanidu Fernando (97 off 101 balls,8 fours, 1 six) and Chamindu Wickramasinghe (59 off 35 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes) all scored half-centuries to help Sri Lanka ‘A’ reach 298-9.

South Africa ‘A’ was dismissed for 205 by spinners Wanuja Sahan and Dushan Hemantha who shared six wickets between them.
