Flight Lieutenant Priya Abeyweeragunawardana Memorial Trophy - Most Outstanding Sports Woman for the Year 2019 - Cpl. W.K.L.A. Nimali - Athletics

 

GP Capt Roger Weerasinghe Memorial Trophy - Most Outstanding Upcoming Sports Personality for the Year 2018 LAC W.L.M. Fernando - Cycling

 

President Air Force Sports Council Trophy - Most Outstanding Women’s Team for the Year 2018 -Winners Taekwondo Women’s team

 


Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Colours Night for 2018 to 2021 took place at the Eagle’s Lakeside Banquet and Convention Hall in Ratmalana recently.

SLAF Academy China Bay and SLAF Station Colombo were awarded the Vernon Rajapaksha Trophy for being the Best Unit in Sports of the years 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The outstanding Sport of the Year was honoured by the President. The Air Force Sports Council Trophy was won by Women’s Taekwondo (2018), Wrestling (2019), Men’s Taekwondo (2018) and Beach Volleyball (2019).

Air Chief Marshal D.C. Perera Memorial trophy for the Most Dedicated Sports Personality of the year was presented to Taekwondo Manager Warrant Officer J.A.S Kumara for 2018 and Wrestling Manager Sergeant Appuhamy W.A.S.R. for 2019.

Secretary to the Defence Ministry (Retd.) General Kamal Gunaratne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Lanka Air Force Commander Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and his wife, Charmini Pathirana, graced the occasion.

  • Corporal B.D.H. Gomes (Weightlifting) 2018
  • Corporal W.K.L.A. Nimali (Athletics) 2019

  • Sergeant M.L.A.P. Kumara (Beach Volleyball) 2018
