15-year-old Adithya Weerasinghe was pick of the tied players on day 1

The first day of the Sri Lanka Golf (SLG) trials for the 37th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship was teed off yesterday with Chalitha Pushpika, Adithya Weerasinghe and Yannik Kumara tied on number 1 position with a score of 73 each.
Jevahn Sathasivam and Uchitha Ranasinghe are tied on 4th position with a score of 74.
In total, 10 golfers are teeing off for the Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship which will take place later this month.
Fifteen-year-old Adithya Weerasinghe from Anuradhapura stole the spotlight with a magnificent
2-over-par round, showing magnificent form and earning him tied first place with Veteran Chalitha Pushpika and the promising youngster Yannik Kumara.
In the closely contested leaderboard, Jevahn Sathasivam and Uchitha Ranasighe claimed joint 4th place with 3 over rounds, while Kumar Danushan secured 6th place with a 5-over-par performance. Chanaka Perera had a poor day ending with a score of 77.
Sri Lanka Golf has set a strict eligibility criterion, emphasising that players must achieve a gross score of three over par or less on each trial day to be considered for selection.
