Sri Lanka Insurance the Official Insurance Partner for ‘Walk of Warriors’

Sri Lanka Insurance becomes the Official Insurance Partner for the ‘Walk of Warriors’, the walk organised by the Sri Lanka Army’s Air Mobile Brigade in celebrating their 25th anniversary and 10 years of war victory. The walk commemorates the fallen war veterans who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country by ending the 30-year war.

The walk begins on 29 May from Medawachchiya and will continue on 30 May from Galkulama, 31 May from Inamaluwa, 1 June from Naula, 2 June from Ukuwela, 4 June from Kandy, 5 June from Kegalle, 7 June from Nittambuwa, 8 June from Kadawatha and ends on the same day at Independence Square Colombo. The 11-day-long walk comprises a parade with the participation of more than 600 army officials along the route.

As well as being the official insurance partner for the ‘Walk of Warriors’, Sri Lanka Insurance is also the insurance provider for the Sri Lanka Army. Established in 1962, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation is the largest Government-owned insurance company in Sri Lanka, with a managed asset base of over Rs. 197 billion and a Life Fund of over Rs. 105 billion, the largest in the local insurance industry. The company is also the first and only local insurer to secure Fitch Ratings AA+ (lka) rating for its long-term financial stability and strong capital position.
