Sri Lanka Junior Spikers eye top place at 2019 Asia Championship

A 12-member strong U-23 women’s volleyball team leaves Sri Lankan shores this week to compete for a top finish at the third Asian Women’s U-23 Volleyball Championship 2019 that will be worked-off from 13 to 21 July in Hanoi, Vietnam.

In the previous Asian championship, Sri Lanka secured the 12th place, while Japan became the overall champs. In this year’s tourney Sri Lanka is in Pool D and will compete against Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and Macau in the preliminary round matches.

The National Volleyball team is sponsored by Dialog Axiata, Sri Lanka’s most prolific sponsor of sports, and is also the proud sponsor of the Sri Lankan National Cricket, Rugby and Netball Junior and Senior Teams.
