Following the conclusion of the group matches of the ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup Sri Lanka A and Bangladesh A from Group A, and India A and Pakistan A from Group B have qualified for the semi-finals to be played tomorrow.
The semi-final line-up is: Sri Lanka A v Pakistan A at R Premadasa Stadium (d/n), and India A v Bangladesh A at P Sara Oval In yesterday’s group matches India A came out on top against arch rivals Pakistan A winning by eight wickets under lights at the R.Premadasa Stadium.
Pakistan was dismissed for 205 in 48 overs with seamer Rajvardhan Hangarghekar taking five wickets and left-arm spinner Manav Suthar three.
India A cruised to their target courtesy an unbeaten 104 from opener Sai Sudharsan who hit 10 fours and three sixes in his 110-ball knock. With Nikin Jose (53), Sudharsan added 101 for the second wicket.
All-rounder Kushal Bhurtel was Nepal’s match winner as they stunned UAE A by three wickets at the P Sara Oval.
Bhurtel took six wickets for 40 with his leg-breaks to curtail UAE A for 157 and then opening the batting scored a swashbuckling 71 off 43 balls with nine fours and four sixes to see Nepal win by three wickets with 27 overs to spare. – (ST)
