Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) conducted Nippon Paint Under-24 XV a side rugby league will reach its week two with four matches down for decision in week two. Two of the matches will be played in Colombo while one each will be taking place in Kurunegala and Badulla.
During week one, Petersons SC beat Field Force SC 35/10, while Science Maroons beat Old Wesley Sports 22/7, where both these encounters took place in Colombo. Western Province, the strongest team in the tournament, handed off Uva Province 119 to nothing in Badulla.
Western Province also showed clear edge over the other teams in the development outfits at the recently concluded Inter Club Sevens in Colombo. In the fourth encounter, North Western Province outclassed Central Province 56/12 in Kurunegala.(SJ)
