Sri Lanka clinched the five-match Under19 ODI series against Pakistan 3-2 when they won the fifth and decisive match by 165 runs at Karachi on Tuesday.
Both teams came to the fifth and final match with the series tied at 2-all, but Sri Lanka held the upper hand in the contest. After scoring a challenging 293-9 courtesy fifties from skipper Sineth Jayawardene (82 off 69 balls, 11 fours, 3 sixes) and Rusanda Gamage (66 off 64 balls, 5 fours), Sri Lanka spinners Vihas Thewmika (3/12), Malsha Tharupathi (3/12) and Vishwa Lahiru (2/29) spun Pakistan out for 128 in 33 overs.
Sri Lanka complete their tour of Pakistan with this series win. They lost the one-off U19 4-day youth test by nine wickets. The tour is part of Sri Lanka’s preparation for the upcoming ICC U19 Cricket World Cup which will be hosted by Sri Lanka in January.
