Sri Lanka finish eighth

The Sri Lanka Under-18 Girls finished eighth at the 12-team event which finished in Bhubaneswar, India yesterday.

Sri Lanka, who did well to beat Bangladesh 81-0 on the opening day, lost all their remaining matches. They were defeated 12-27 by the UAE, 15-24 by India, 0-51 by Hong Kong, 10-17 by Qatar and 0-27 once again by the UAE in the seventh place playoff.

China beat Hong Kong 28-5 to win the event while Thailand got the better of hosts India to secure the third-place playoff spot. (SJ)
