Sri Lanka look for clean sweep of Bangladesh ODI series

Sri Lanka will be looking for a clean sweep of the five-match Under 19 ODI series against Bangladesh when they play the fifth and final match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium today.

Sri Lanka have been dominant throughout the series winning the first four games played to hold onto an unbeatable 4-0 lead.

However, if one looks at the results obtained in the series so far Bangladesh could consider themselves unlucky not to have won at least two matches that went to the wire and they lost.

Sri Lanka won the first ODI by 42 runs but apart from that the next three ODIs were closely contested with Sri Lanka winning by margins of one run, three wickets and one wicket.

Bangladesh’s problem has been that they have not been able to capitalise on situations and ram home the advantage but instead let slip the opportunities that have come their way.

Bangladesh are the current Under 19 World Cup champions and will try their best to avoid a complete whitewash of the series.  (ST)
