Having already pocketed the three-match T20I series 2-0 with one match to play against Afghanistan, Sri Lanka are looking at resting some of the key players and giving those in the bench a chance to play in the third and final T20I at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium today.

Three places are already confirmed with top order batsman Kusal Perera, spinner Akila Dananjaya and fast bowler Nuwan Thushara coming in for Dhananjaya de Silva, Maheesh Theekshana and Binura Fernando respectively. Perera will bat in De Silva’s position at number three.

The fourth change is likely to be all-rounder Kamindu Mendis. However, the selectors will have to take a call on whom he will replace – Angelo Mathews or Charith Asalanka.

The national selectors are expected to pick the Sri Lanka T20I squad to play a three-match series in Bangladesh next month, after today’s game. The ODI and Test squads will be picked later. – (ST)
