Sri Lanka loses to Uzbekistan in Billie Jean King Cup

Sri Lanka lost out on a top end and earn promotion when they were beaten by the Uzbekistan 2/1 in the decider of Pool A encounter of the Billie Jean King Cup Asia Oceania Group 2 encounter at the Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan yesterday.

This encounter was the selection criteria to meet Mongolia who were on top in Group B. The winner of the group leaders will be promoted for 2023.

Uzbekistan will now play Mongolia today for the promotion encounter.
