The Sri Lanka Sevens rugby outfit currently training for the Asia Rugby Sevens 2021, which will take place in UAE on 19 and 20 November, has shifted their training sessions from Havelock Park and Royal Sports Complex to the Air Force rugby ground in Ratmalana.

Speaking to Daily FT, Sri Lanka Assistant Coach Nilfer Ibrahim said: “A few sessions were cancelled due to heavy rain in Colombo and now we have shifted the sessions to Ratmalana. The boys are in good condition, and we will select the touring 12 shortly. Under Ben Gollings’ coaching there is a lot to learn for the boys. We are getting the full support from Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) for this tour.”

Meanwhile the touring Sri Lankan women’s outfit, under the watchful eye of Saliya Kumara, are training at the Sugathadasa Stadium. The outfit, already reduced to 20, will name their touring squad in the near future. (SJ)
