Sri Lanka Women were given a scare by UAE Women before recording their first win of the Women’s Asia Cup tournament in Sylhet, Bangladesh yesterday.

Batting first Sri Lanka Women managed only 109-9 with opener Harshitha Samarawickrama making a top score of 37 off 40 balls (4 fours).

UAE Women had a revised target of 66 to score off 11 overs but they made only 54-7 to hand Sri Lanka Women a win by 11 runs under the D/L method.

Spinner Kavisha Dilhari and Inoka Ranaweera took two wickets apiece to restrict UAE.

Sri Lanka lost their opening fixture against India by 41 runs on Saturday.
