Dual-purpose bowler Malsha Shehani recorded her best figures in Women’s T20I cricket when she took four wickets for two runs to rout Malaysia for 33 and bring Sri Lanka a thumping 72-run win in the Women’s Asia Cup match played at Sylhet.
Shehani who took the Player of the Match award proved unplayable as six of Malaysia’s batters were dismissed for ducks. Shehani was supported by left-arm spinners Sugandika Kumari and Inoka Ranaweera who shared four wickets.
Sri Lanka batting first scored 105-7 with Chamari Athapaththu, Nilakshi de Silva and Oshadi Ranasinghe contributing with 20s.
This was Sri Lanka’s third successive win after losing their opening match to India.
