Sri Lanka’s senior women spikers eye top-placed finish at 2019 Asia Championship

A 14-member strong senior volleyball team leaves Sri Lankan shores this week to compete for a top finish at the Asian Volleyball Championship 2019, which will be worked off from 18-25 August in Seoul, South Korea. 

In the previous Asian championship, Sri Lanka secured 12th place, while Japan became the overall champs. 

In this year’s tourney, Sri Lanka is in Pool D and will compete against Indonesia and China in the preliminary round matches. Teams from 13 countries will be competing for the Asian Championship.
