Sri Lanka secures 3rd place at Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup

Sri Lanka stamped their dominance to beat Bangladesh 3-0 and secure the third spot at the first-ever Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup powered by Dialog 4G Home Broadband at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo. 

In the run up to the knockout stage of the tourney Sri Lanka beat Malaysia, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates, however couldn’t overcome a brilliant performance from the eventual champs Iraq (3-1), to secure a berth in the final of Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup 2018.

From Sri Lanka’s players, Deepthi Ramesh was adjudged as the best outside attacker, while Lakmal Wijesekera was selected as the best libero of the tourney.  Sri Lanka’s premiere connectivity provider, Dialog Axiata PLC, is the principal sponsor of the National Volleyball Team.
