Reuters: Sri Lankan cricket team held a strenuous practice session in India’s southern coastal city of Visakhapatnam on Friday (15) ahead of its third and final one-day international (ODI) against the hosts.
The Sri Lankan players were seen going through the paces as they set their sight on the road to victory after an emphatic 141-run loss to the hosts in the second match in northern Mohali city on Wednesday (13).
Stand-by skipper Rohit Sharma smashed his third ODI double century to help India post 392 for four in their 50 overs and square the series at 1-1.
Sri Lanka, who lost the three-test series 1-0 against India, had been hoping for a repeat of the series opener in Dharamsala, when India were bundled out for 112 in a seven-wicket defeat. But Sharma and fellow opener Shikhar Dhawan denied them the dream of becoming the first Sri Lankan team to record a series win in India in 20 years.
The third and final ODI will be played at Dr. Y.S.R. Rajashekhara ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in the city on Sunday (17).
