Sri Lanka to play Afghanistan in opening Asia Cup match

Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan in the opening match of the Men’s Asia Cup 2022 at Dubai on 27 August.

Sri Lanka are drawn in Group B with Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Group A comprises defending champions India, Pakistan and one qualifier.

The top two teams in the group will go through to play in the second round – the Super Four which will be run on a league basis. The two teams finishing on top of the Super Four will play in the final on 11 September at Dubai. All matches commence at 7:30 p.m. SLT.

The fixtures released by Sri Lanka Cricket are as follows.

 27 August: Sri Lanka v Afghanistan at Dubai

 28 August: India v Pakistan at Dubai

 30 August: Bangladesh v Afghanistan at Sharjah

 31 August: India v Qualifier at Dubai

 1 September: Sri Lanka v Bangladesh at Dubai

 2 September: Pakistan v Qualifier at Sharjah

 3 September: Super 4: B1 v B2 at Sharjah

 4 September: Super 4: A1 v A2 at Dubai

 6 September: Super 4: A1 v B1 at Dubai

 7 September: Super 4: A2 v B2 at Dubai

 8 September: Super 4: A1 v B2 at Dubai

 9 September: Super 4: B1 v A2 at Dubai

 11 September: Final: 1st Super 4 v 2nd Super 4
