Sriyan Cooray Chief Guest today at Bradby

1983 Royal skipper, Sriyan Cooray will be the Chief Guest at this event and not Sujeewa Cooray as inadvertently reported by the Daily FT yesterday. 

In 1983 he led the outfit to win in the second leg after losing out the first one in Kandy to Trinity outfit led by Ashan Ratwatte. This was also the 100th encounter between the two schools.  

Sriyan also led the Under 17 outfit, was awarded rugby colours in 1980. He played for the Reid Avenue outfit for four years leading in his last year. He was involved in Schools athletics as well winning colours in 1981 and leading the outfit in 1982/83. After leaving school he played for CR and FC from 1984 to 1990. As an administrator he was the President of the Red Shirts from 2017 to 2019. He also represented the national sevens outfit in 1985 at the Hong Kong Sevens.
