St. Joseph’s College wins Zahira Super Sixteen Soccer Tournament 2020

The Past Prefects Association (PPA) of Zahira College Colombo organised the ‘Zahira Super Sixteen Soccer 7s 2020’ tournament for the 15th consecutive year at the Race Course Grounds Colombo recently. In the final St. Joseph’s College beat Gateway College by 1-0.      

The Chief Guest Main Sponsor of the tournament Deedat Head of Marketing Rameez Sheriif presented 50,000 cash award and champion trophy to winning team captain Sachinthaka Perera of St. Joseph’s College.  

Zahira College Principal Trizviiy Marikkar, Board of Governors Chairman Fouzul Hameed, Secretary Alavi Mukthar, PPA President Razmi Rafeek, Project Chairman Arafath Nizam and OBA President Naina Mohamed were also present.   There were 16 schools that participated in this tournament which are De Mazenod College, Gateway College, Hindu College, Al Aqsa College, Isipathana College, Alethea International School, Maris Stella College, St, Henry’s College, D.S. Senanayake College, Royal College, St. Benedict’s College, St. Joseph’s College, S. Thomas’ College, Zahira Colombo Gampola, Wesley College and Zahira College Colombo. Best Goal Keeper was De Mel of Gateway College, Man of the Final was Kaviendya Rupasinghe of St. Joseph’s College and Most Valuable Player was Shenal Sandesh of St. Joseph’s received awards from guests.
