Standard Chartered Sri Lanka successfully hosted its priority clients to the annual highly anticipated Priority Golf Championship 2025, at the picturesque Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana recently.
The exclusive two-day event brought together over 70 of the bank’s valued priority clients. They were treated to an exceptional experience that began on 28 February with a private express train journey from Colombo Fort to Kandy, and then to the Victoria Golf Resort in Digana via luxury buses. Participants enjoyed luxurious accommodations in breath-taking properties surrounding the golf course, with the day culminating in an elegant networking dinner.
The championship teed off early morning on 1 March, with players competing across the world-renowned course throughout the morning. The subsequent awards ceremony recognised outstanding performers in multiple categories, including separate championships for men and women. Adding to the excitement was the coveted prize of a brand new BYD Electric Vehicle for any player achieving a hole-in-one.
Standard Chartered Sri Lanka CEO Bingumal Thewarathanthri said: “The Standard Chartered Golf Championship is our commitment to creating extraordinary experiences for our valued priority clients. The event extends beyond banking relationships to building meaningful connections in a setting that illustrates the affluent lifestyle that our priority clients appreciate.”
Executive Director and Wealth and Retail Banking Sri Lanka Head Chamikara Wijesinghe said: “Returning to the Victoria Golf Resort for the second time highlights the success of this format. The combination of world-class golfing, luxury accommodations, and exclusive transportation creates an unparalleled experience that our priority clients eagerly anticipate each year.”
Ehantha Sirisena emerged the winner of the Standard Chartered Priority Golf Championship 2025 in the Men’s category, with Dhammika Prasad Ranasinghe as the runner-up. In the Ladies’ Division, Ahalya Rajan was the winner and Roshini Sangani the runner-up. The Best Standard Chartered Staff Golfer was won by Murray Fernandesz.
