Suhiru Anthony to play for CH & FC

Former Peterite, National youth and XV-a-side player Suhiru Anthony has joined CH & FC for the 2022/2023 rugby season. He played for the champion Kandy SC for the last four years. His reason for

shifting clubs resulted in his change in his employment from Kandy to Colombo.

He featured in the Peterite first XV team for three years from 2008 to 2010 as a lock forward. He was in the triple champion outfit in his last year at school. While at school in his final year he was selected for the national youth team tour of Thailand. Two years later, while playing for Navy SC, he was selected to play for the sevens outfit tour of China and Mumbai. A year later, he made his XV-a-side debut for the national team against Kazakhstan in Colombo. 

In 2014, he moved to the Up-Country outfit and was with the trophy winning outfits in tandem. He played for Kandy SC till the 2020 league. He was an automatic choice for the XV-a-side national outfit since then till 2019. He is expected to play for CH & FC for couple of seasons before taking up coaching at school level.
