Sumedha Malawana to coach Vidyartha at rugby

Former Vidyartha, Navy SC and National fifteens player, SumedhaMalawana will be the Head Coach of the Vidyartha College rugby outfit in 2019.

Malawana who was the deputy skipper of Vidyartha College in 1998 went on to represent the Sailors from 2000 onwards for 14 long years. He was no automatic choice for the national fifteens team from 2002 to 2013. 

Vidyartha Under 19 outfit will be led by Kavishka Bandara and they will open the season with a game against Mahanama at Nittawela Rugby Stadium on 2 March. (SJ)
