Super Kings wins Aqsarian Super League 2021

Super Kings won the ‘Aqsarian Super League (ASL) 2020/21’; a football tournament organised by the Al-Aqsa National School – Kinniya, Trincomalee.

Super Kings won the contest 1-0 against Racing Stars with T.M Roshan scoring a penalty in the 29th minute. 

The four-day competition featured eight teams and drew great enthusiasm among football lovers from the area. The tournament consisted of a league stage, followed by a knockout round, from which the ultimate winner was determined. 

Teams that were in contention were Aqsarian Racing Stars, Aqsarian Black Panthers, Aqsarian Blue Eagles, Aqsarian Super Kings, Aqsarian Warriors, Aqsarian Jupiters, Aqsarian Super Fighters and Aqsarian Super Boys. The tournament was sponsored by popular nutritional drink Milo.

In the semi-final, the game between the Jupiters and Super Kings ended 1-3. M.J.M. Rifkan scored for the Jupiters, while T.M. Roshan scored one and M. Nifraz scored two goals for the Super Kings. The second semi-final was between the Racing Stars and Super Fighters, which ended 2-1. M. Mufees and Mohomed Abbas scored one each for the Racing Stars, while M. Aflal scored one for the Super Fighters).
