Surain wins in Nuwara Eliya Golf Club – Monthly Medal May 2024

Golf was at its best when the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) hosted the Monthly Medal event with Surain Premathilake winning in the handicap of 0 to 16 last weekend at their golf course in the hill country.

The event was divided into four segments. Handicap 0 to 16, 17 to 28 Handicap, Senior’s, and Ladies.

With the former Trinitian Surain Premathilake, winning the segment, former Thomian cricketer, Ken de Alwis was placed second in the same segment. Surain had 73 strokes closely followed by Ken with 74. The 17 to 28 handicap category was dominated by Saliya Jayaweera, who carded an impressive score of 71.

In the Senior’s category, Pastor Joshua secured the top spot with a score of 76. The Ladies category saw Anouk Chitty take the honours with a score of 71.
