SINGAPORE (Reuters): Elina Svitolina captured the WTA Finals title with a 3-6 6-2 6-2 victory over Sloane Stephens on Sunday, the Ukrainian rallying past the American to claim the biggest win of her career at the end of a perfect week in Singapore.
Svitolina came into the event in wretched form after a brilliant start to her 2018 campaign, but won all her pool matches and proved too strong for the 2017 US Open champion to add the year-end championship to her 12 WTA tournament wins.
