Sylvester’s win Stubbs Shield Boxing Championship 2023

St. Sylvester’s College won the championship for a record 17th time in the 300 plus Boys and Girls annual boxing event which took place at Royal MAS arena in Colombo recently. Sylvester’s took home 4 Golds, 2 Silver and one Bronze.

Thomian Y.V.M. Premarathna was named Best Boxer while the Best Loser award went to the champion outfits, S.P.P. Angelo. Meanwhile, Kadugannawa National School was runner-up with 2 Golds, one Silver and 3 Bronze medals. Trinity settled for the number 3 position with 2 Golds, and 2 Bronze medals.

In the Girls segment Hemamali Girls College, Kandy who were runners-up winning two gold medals produced the Best Boxer of the meet H.M.N.A. Herath while the Best Loser was S.M.N. Miloniya of Siri Perakum Vidyalaya, Kotagala. Viharamahadevi Girls, Kiribathgoda won the Girl’s segment championship. (SJ)
