Sysco LABS wraps up year of great mercantile performance

  • Wins in multiple sports signal inclusive, collaborative workplace culture



Sysco LABS colleagues received numerous accolades in the mercantile sports arena throughout 2024. 

Among its victories, Sysco LABS secured the ‘Best Player’ and ‘Champions’ awards in the ‘Mixed Event – H Division’ at the 40th MBA Inter-Firm Badminton Championship, three Gold medals at the Mercantile Swimming Championship, and first runners-up at the Mercantile Table Tennis Association (MTTA) Team Knockout Tournament for both Men’s and Women’s teams. Sysco LABS Cycling also saw a solo finisher and a second-place victory for the relay team at the Nuwara Eliya 4XR cycling competition, as well as two solo finishers at the Race Across cycling competition. 

Additionally, Sysco LABS clinched the ‘Player of the Final’, ‘Best Batsman’ and ‘Best Female Player’ trophies at the JATCo IT Industry Indoor Cricket Fiesta. 

Sysco LABS’ success across multiple mercantile events highlight a versatile internal culture, supported by its internal employee-led social club, the Ministry of Fun (MOF). Balancing work and play evenly, Sysco LABS encourages a workplace culture where participating in collaborative, team-based sports boost employee engagement and camaraderie.
