Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka selects Dewmeth Weerasena for the Junior Table Tennis pool

The Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka recently selected Dewmeth Weerasena of Lyceum International School Nugegoda for the Junior Table Tennis pool, based on his excellent performances as a table tennis player at national and international sporting events.

Dewmeth’s achievements include achieving the first rank in the Under-12 age group and the fourth rank in the Under-15 age group in 2020. This year, Dewmeth also claimed the second rank in the Under-15 age group and currently holds the 47th rank in the ITTF Table Tennis Under-13 Boys Singles category.

Dewmeth has participated in international tournaments, such as the South Asian Regional ITTF Hope and Cadet Week and Challenge Program 2019 (13-18 December 2019) in Kathmandu, Nepal, where he secured the third spot.

Dewmeth has also participated in the Regional Hopes Week (South Asia) 2019 (22-27 January 2019), held in Harayana, India and the ITTF World Junior Circuit Premium Oman Junior and Cadet 2019 in Muscat, Oman (24-28 October 2019). 

Additionally, Dewmeth was a participant in the Asia Hopes Week 2019 (6-13 May 2019) and the SET Thailand Junior and Cadet Open 2019 (15-19 May 2019), which were programs held in Bangkok, Thailand.
