Distinguished Talent Resident of Australia and Wushu Federation of Sri Lanka President Manel Dharmakeerthie is planning to teach Thaijiquan, popularly known as Taichi, for Dandenong residents of Australia.

Taichi is one of the most popular styles of Chinese martial arts, Wushu for its benefits in health and wellbeing. This gentle form of exercise can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance and could be the perfect activity for living a healthy life. So this program is mainly aimed for elderly people in Dandenong where more than 160 different nationalities live in.

This was discussed when Dharmakeerthie, himself a Dandenong resident since 2011, met three-time Mayor and now a Councillor of Greater Dandenong City Council Jim Memeti at his  Council office in Dandenong.

Because of this program residents of Dandenong can live a longer life as Taichi helps to improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, and digestive function, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, deeper more restorative sleep , reduce pain and stiffness says internationally-renowned Wushuite Dharmakeerthie.

During the discussion Memeti and Dharmakeerthie discussed to sign a Sister City program between Dandenong and the capital city of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, where Dharmakeerthie is originally from.
